KenGen Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme & KenGen Defined Contribution Scheme (2012) are pension schemes for employees working for Kenya Electricity Generating Company Limited. The two schemes are registered with RBA and their core business is to provide pension and other retirement benefits to members and beneficiaries.
The Schemes wishes to invite dynamic, innovative and self - motivated candidates to submit their applications for the following positions.
1. PROPERTY MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
The schemes seek to fill a vacant position of Property Maintenance Technician. The job holder will be reporting to the Property Officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Maintenance Technician duties will be as follows:
a) Working closely with the property officer to minimize expenditure and maximize revenue on all budgeted parameters.
b) Working with the property officer to ensure common areas are maintained to the set standards.
c) Coordinating of routine maintenance and repairs as well as emergency repairs and supporting property officer to develop a preventive maintenance program.
d) Supporting property officer in enforcement of safety standards, policies and procedures.
e) Preparing repairs and maintenance cost schedules.
f) Ensuring utilities are paid in good time.
g) Working closely with service providers such as security, cleaning etc. to ensure that services are provided as per the set standards.
h) Disseminating any information relayed by the tenant to the property officer.
i) Must be conversant with report writing and keeping of good maintenance records.
j) Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor
The job holder must possess:
a) Diploma in Building Construction or Diploma in any related technical field with 3 years’ experience working in a commercial building, OR A certificate in a related technical field and 5 years’ experience working in commercial building.
b) Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint).
c) Ability to read and interpret plumbing and electrical drawings.
d) Must possess excellent judgment and common sense.
e) Must be courteous and have good communication skills.
f) Should be an efficient and resourceful team player.
2. BOARD & TRUST SECRETARY ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
The Administrative Assistant duties will be as follows:
a) Devising and maintaining office systems, including data management and filing;
b) Arranging travel, visas and accommodation and, occasionally, travelling with the Trust Secretary to take notes or dictation at meetings or to provide general
assistance during presentations;
c) Screening phone calls, enquiries and requests, and handling them when appropriate;
d) Organizing and maintaining diaries and making appointments;
e) Dealing with incoming email, and post, often corresponding on behalf of the Board and the Trust Secretary;
f) Carrying out background research and presenting findings;
g) Producing documents, briefing papers, reports and presentations;
h) Organizing and attending meetings and ensuring the Board and the Trust Secretary are well prepared for meetings;
i) Liaising with clients, suppliers and other staff.
j) Managing Secretariat HR Matters.
k) Must be able to maintain office confidentiality & keep oath of office.
l) Maintains Staff information by entering and updating employment and statuschange data.
m) Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
The job holder must possess:
a) Degree in Business related field
b) 3 years’ experience
c) Administration skills
d) Presentation and good communication skills
