NOTICE is hereby given that there will be two (2) vacant trusteeship positions (Members Elected Trustees) in KenGen Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme 2012 effective 21 April 2024. This will be upon the expiry of the first three-year term of Charles Masio and Asaria Onsoti, who are eligible for election for another one (1) term. 

The law requires a defined contribution Scheme (DC Scheme) to have equal representation for both the Sponsor and Members in its Board of Trustees. The above vacancies leave the Board with only two members’ representatives. Ernest Nadome (General Secretary) and Abdi Muhumed (Assistant General Secretary) who both represent Kenya Electrical Trade and Allied Workers Union (KETAWU). This hence necessities a notice of elections in the DC Scheme.

To ensure equal representation in the Board of Trustees and to comply with Good Governance Guidelines as gazette by RBA in 2018 which make it mandatory for the Board of Trustees to have a Trustee who is conversant with financial and accounting matters, the two (2) vacant posts have been segregated into two categories. One (1) post for candidates with financial skills i.e., a candidate who has a Bachelor’s Degree in finance field and professional qualification in finance and one (1) post for candidates with non-financial skills.

Interested members of KenGen Defined Contribution Scheme who are in the Middle Level Management with the Sponsor and would wish to join the Board of Trustees are requested to complete the attached nomination form together with a fit and proper form and have the same submitted to the CEO & Trust Secretary. In addition, the following documents shall be submitted via email to the CEO & Trust Secretary Jmuriuki@kengensrbs.co.ke on or before 22 March 2024 5:00 PM.

1. Tax compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority
2. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police Service
3. Copy of National Identity Card
4. Passport size Photograph
5. His/her professional qualifications history (curriculum Vitae)
6. Copies of his/her certificates.

Members will be notified of the successful nominated candidates, the election guidelines, and the election date via Scheme communication channels.
