Hannah Nguhi

CEO & Trust Secretary

Hannah Nguhi was appointed Chief Executive Officer & Trust Secretary of the KenGen Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme in January 2026, having served the Scheme since April 2013 in progressively senior leadership roles. She is an accomplished pensions executive and investment strategist with over twenty years' experience leading retirement institutions through strategic leadership, sound governance, prudent investment management and member-centred service delivery. She leads the Scheme in delivering its mandate of securing members' retirement benefits through sound governance, prudent investment management, operational excellence and sustainable long-term growth across the Defined Benefit (DB) Scheme, Defined Contribution (DC) Scheme and Income Drawdown Fund (IDDF). Throughout her career, Hannah has played a key role in strengthening investment governance and diversifying institutional investment portfolios across quoted equities, fixed income securities, offshore investments and private equity.

She has extensive experience in investment strategy, manager oversight, portfolio construction and institutional due diligence, including serving as an Observer on the Advisory Committee of a Pan-African private equity fund. Prior to joining KenGen Staff Retirement Benefits Scheme, she served as a Portfolio Manager at Dry Associates Ltd and previously worked as a Pension Benefits Administrator at Zamara Financial Services (formerly Alexander Forbes). Hannah holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). She has completed Levels I and II of the Certified Investment and Financial Analyst (CIFA) programme and is a member of the Actuarial Society of Kenya (TASK). She is passionate about building a trusted, member-centred retirement institution founded on sound governance, prudent investment management, innovation and service excellence.
